A significant number of people around the world are differently-abled. Our lab aims to work on morphology-properties relationships to design better prosthetics for amputees. We mostly focus on polymer nano-composites and study the effect of interface bonding, nano-filler dispersion etc. on the fracture toughness and fatigue properties of prosthetics. We use a combination of different polymer processing techniques, FEM and advanced mechanical testing to realize these goals.
